Sending Medicines Safely Refrigerated Abroad

Shipping Medicines Chilled for Extended Periods Abroad

Medicines must be carefully shipped with suitable gel packs to maintain their quality and effectiveness during transport abroad. In this blog, we explain what to consider when shipping temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical products.

Why is chilled shipping essential?

Many medicines, especially biological drugs, vaccines, and certain injectable products, are temperature-sensitive. An environment that is too warm or too cold can affect the medicine's efficacy. Strict temperature control during transport is therefore crucial.

GDP Guidelines

Good Distribution Practice (GDP) guidelines apply to pharmaceutical transport. These guidelines specify how medicines must be handled during transport and storage, including temperature monitoring and recording.

Choosing the right packaging

At Cooled Solutions, we are happy to advise you on the right combination of insulated liner and coolants. For longer transports, EPS boxes with gel packs are often the best choice. For shorter shipments, an insulated liner is sufficient.
